Tubular Skylights

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does a Tubular Skylight work?
A: A Tubular skylight collects light from the sun and sends it down a highly
reflective tubular shaft while filtering out UV rays and heat. This brings in
natural sunlight without the heat and UV problems associated with
conventional skylights. Unlike traditional skylights that have a white roof
lens, the dome is crystal clear so all of the sunlight is transmitted.

Q: Why should I use a Tubular Skylight?
A: Not only will you have natural sunlight indoors, but you will also save on
electric costs. Tubular Skylights filter out harmful UV rays, and because it
is a sealed system it also filters out heat.

Q: What size Skylight is right for me?
A: Our Skylights come in three sizes: 10, 13 and 21 inches. The 10" model
lights an area of about 100 square feet, the 13" model lights up about 250
square feet, and the 21" model lights up around 600 square feet.

Q: Is the Skylight dome durable?
A: Our skylight domes have passed every portion of the most rigorous
skylight durability test in the nation: the Miami-Dade County, Florida
hurricane impact test. One portion of this test includes an impact test of
a 9-pound 2 by 4 travelling at 50 miles per hour; our Skylight domes saw
no damage and lost no strength.
